2022 Bronco Raptor Discovered In Bronco Ordering Guide

With a ton of speculation regarding the Bronco Raptor previously referred to as the Bronco Warthog. A photo emerged on the Bronco6G forum, which shared just a teensy bit of detail regarding the 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor, among other details, such as an Everglades trim level, and new packages. Upon checking out the thread, one will find that the post has been removed, which means someone wasn’t too happy about the leak. However, the internet cannot be erased, and thanks to The Drive, we can still get our hands on a few new details.

2022 Ford Bronco Raptor, Bronco Everglades, And More

The 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor, not Warthog, appears to be the name confirmed in the order guide leak. This suggests that Ford leaned on erred on the side of caution with the naming of the off-road SUV, giving shared familiarity with the F-150 Raptor name. This is in spite of Ford engineers having fun with the “Warthog” nickname, including paying homage to the might A-10 Warthog fighter jet and its incredible minigun with “BRRRT” lettering in the camouflage, pictured below if you look closely.

In addition the Bronco6G leak details the 373A package is the base 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor, while the 374A package adds a new Lux Package, Adaptive Cruise Control, Heated Steering Wheel, and a Wireless Charger to the go-anywhere SUV.

Perhaps the only extra detail to learn about the 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor is that it’s only going to be available in four-door. This isn’t super surprising, since the added power would make the upright SUV sketchy to drive in a 2-door configuration. See the Hemi-powered Jeep Wrangler 392 as another example.

A 2022 Ford Bronco Everglades trim has also been spotted within the ordering system, as well, but details are unknown beyond that. The Everglades is another US National Park that follows the Bronco trim level naming scheme, but where it fits in the hierarchy is unclear. There are 63 National Parks in total, so Ford won’t have any trouble with other names in the future. Except for maybe Denali.

Additionally, we can expect to see the 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor with some fun colors like the newly announced Eruption Green, Hot Pepper Red, Code Orange, and Desert Sand.

What About The Engine?

The biggest question has yet to be answered regarding the Bronco Raptor, which is, what’s under the hood? It’s expected that the 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor could get a 3.0L EcoBoost V6 which can be found in the 2022 Ford Explorer ST, as well as the upcoming Ford Ranger Raptor. The engine produces 400 horsepower in the Explorer, so it would be perfect under the hood of the Bronco Raptor.

It’s still unclear when Ford will unveil the Bronco Raptor, but it could very well be sometime this year at the 2021 SEMA event, which is where Ford unveiled the Bronco R race truck in 2019.
