2022 Corvette Customers Will Be Part Of New Order Tracking System

If you order anything these days, you get a tracking number to go with it. Whether it’s a washing machine or a set of cookware, you know exactly what stage of the delivery process a product is at before it’s shipped to your door. And when it is at your door, there’s also a confirmation telling you it’s the case. So, why can’t this happen with our cars? Well, according to reports, Chevrolet has come up with a solution for that dilemma by creating an automated system that will keep 2022 C8 Corvette customers updated on the status of their orders.

The Corvette Action Center recently published an article regarding a 31-page document entitled Corvette CANS Reference Guide and FAQs, which outlines the new automated system; not far off from a Dominos pizza tracker. The goal is to ensure that customers are never left in the dark throughout the delivery process (which they largely are). Chevrolet aims to do this by sending emails of the location of their Corvette along with customized product images.

Details On The Chevrolet Corvette Order Tracking System

Customers will begin to receive email notifications once their order reaches event 3000 when the order is accepted. From there, customers will receive four follow-up emails that detail the process. The order status will be in sync with GM’s Order Workbench (OWB), enabling customers and dealers to receive the same information. On some occasions, customers will only receive three emails if the vehicle doesn’t go to a vehicle distribution center and instead heads straight to the dealer from the plant. In rare circumstances, customers may receive an additional email letting them know that there aren’t any updates at the time, but the system is still working. This additional email works as a proactive measure should a vehicle sit at event 3000 for more than 28 days.

Customers won’t be receiving updates regarding their Targeted Production Week (TPW) dates since that information is sometimes subject to change. Instead, Chevrolet will alert the customer when their order has been placed into the production schedule. In addition, customers also won’t be notified when their Corvette arrives at their dealership due to the time it can take a dealership to receive and prep a Corvette for customer delivery. Instead, the dealers will notify the customers when their vehicles have arrived and are ready for pickup.

This new order tracking system for the Corvette will begin for the 2022 model year, with the first notifications sent out on December 6th, 2021.
