2022 Ram 1500 Laramie G/T, Rebel GT Use TRX Parts In New Package

The Stellantis truck portfolio grew by two more this week with the introduction of the 2022 Ram 1500 Laramie G/T and 1500 Rebel G/T. The models fill that medium space between the Hellcat-powered Ram TRX and the lowest end of the Ram 1500 models. How do they do it? It seems that some goodies from the TRX parts bin have found their way into the new G/T luxury performance trucks.

Ram TRX Trickle-Down Performance Goodies

Both The 2022 Ram 1500 G/T trims will come solely with a proper power plant for a mid range luxury performance truck, the 5.7L Hemi V8 with eTorque mild hybrid assist. The Rebel and Laramie will come standard with a Mopar cold-end exhaust and cold air intake. Both models are outfitted with the TRX’s Performance Pages through the Uconnect infotainment system. Accessing the Performance Pages app will display real-time vehicle information and performance stats. This includes timers for hot laps and 0-60 times, g-force, gauges, and engine performance measurements. All the data can be saved and downloaded to a USB drive.

Thankfully, both G/T models will receive the console-mounted performance shifter found in the TRX. No dial shifter here. Other new cabin features include paddle shifters, and a metal foot pedal kit. Also specific to the 2022 Ram 1500 Laramie G/T and 1500 Rebel G/T are logo’d bucket seats and all-weather floor mats, courtesy of Mopar. On the outside, the luxury performance trucks will get a sport performance hood and be adorned with prominent G/T decals, as is expected.

Ram 1500 Laramie G/T and Ram 1500 Rebel G/T Pricing

The 2022 Ram 1500 Laramie G/T will start at $55,480 while the Ram 1500 Rebel G/T starts just a smidge lower at an MSRP of $55,375. It wouldn’t be too surprising if Ram kicked off the production of the Laramie and Rebel G/T trucks. Just recently, Ram commemorated the 10th anniversary of the Ram 1500 Limited with (you guessed it), a 2022 Ram 1500 Limited 10th Anniversary Edition. Stellantis says both the G/T trucks will go on sale in the third quarter of 2021.
