Addams Family 2 will hit the big and small screen this Halloween season. The animated sequel releases on Oct. 1 in theaters and Premium On Demand.
The upcoming Addams Family 2 sequel is set for a theatrical and rental release this October, hitting the big screen and small screen on the same day. The animated comedy will feature familiar voices from a long list of stars, including Charlize Theron as Morticia, Oscar Isaac as Gomez, Chloë Grace Moretz as Wednesday, Bill Hader as Cyrus, Snoop Dogg as It, Nick Kroll as Uncle Fester, Bette Midler as Grandma, and Javon ‘Wanna’ Walton as Pugsley. The trailer for Addams Family 2 revealed the film’s action-packed premise, which involves an Addams Family RV road trip fueled by an unsurprising amount of wacky, spooky fun.
THR reported the anticipated adventure-comedy will make its US and Canada debut on October 1 in both theaters and through online rental with Premium On Demand. Per THR, many studios are considering this form of dual release in light of the new Delta variant and recent surge of COVID-19 cases. Should circumstances remain similar to how they are now, it’s safe to assume there will continue be a mixed bag of movie-goers and at-home watchers.
Longtime fans of the horror-comedy franchise will be happy to know MGM kept their word on releasing Addams Family 2 this Halloween season. It seems like it’s been a while since audiences have been graced with a plethora of these kinds of seasonal gems. With old-school reboots and sequels like Candyman and Halloween Kills on the radar, Halloween 2021 may just be the comeback season for classic creepy staples, Addams Family 2 included.
