Death Stranding: Director’s Cut was revealed for PS5 during Summer Game Fest with a bizarre teaser trailer that parodies Metal Gear Solid.
One of the most surprising reveals at the Summer Game Fest was the reveal of Death Stranding: Director’s Cut. Hideo Kojima dropped by for an interview with Geoff Keighley, teasing his next game with a bunch of vague and cryptic statements, noting that he wants to do something really new, but didn’t go too in-depth. Of course, he didn’t want to leave people without something of substance, so he revealed the trailer for Death Standing: Director’s Cut.
The PlayStation 5 port of Death Stranding has been rumored for quite some time and, given the title, it may actually clue fans in as to what they can expect from the new version of the PS4 exclusive. Although not mentioned at Summer Game Fest, that same leak indicated that The Last of Us Part II will also be coming to PS5, so it’s quite possible that rumor has been given a lot more credibility given the confirmation of Death Stranding: Director’s Cut.
Hideo Kojima revealed the rather bizarre teaser trailer for the game, which is a parody of Metal Gear Solid. Sam Bridges picks up a box and sits in it after looking over a warehouse that seems to be designed for someone like Solid Snake himself. It’s likely this will be a mission in the full game, but nothing was confirmed. A PS5 version of Death Stranding has been long-awaited and Keighley confirmed a full reveal will be happening in the coming weeks, which could indicate a PlayStation State of Play is also on the way.
