A Tampa, Florida man who molested a 10-year-old girl and tried to destroy evidence by washing her private parts in bleach, gets life in prison, The New York Daily News reported.
Earlier this month, Lewis Matthews , 43, was convicted of four separate felonies after a jury found him guilty of “sexual battery on a victim younger than 12, lewd or lascivious molestation of a victim younger than 12 and tampering with physical evidence,” according to reports.
The child was the daughter of his girlfriend who he reportedly started molesting on on April 13, 2019, in a Tampa, Fla. home he shared with the girl’s mother.
According to reports, when the mother overheard the commotion around 3:30 a.m., she screamed and then Matthews took off with the victim and two of her siblings in her car.
Matthews the reportedly took the child to a bathroom where he ordered the girl to take her clothes off and he splashed her genitals with Clorox, prosecutors said in court.
“He undressed her and then proceeded to molest and sexually batter her,” the Hillsborough State Attorney’s Office said in a statement this week.”
