Hamburger’s Superchargers For S550 Ford Mustang GT: 700+ HP

Speed and power is the driving force behind the desire to own a muscle car. That’s it. Anything else is losing the plot. And perhaps the most recognizable muscle car on sale today is the S550 Ford Mustang GT. With 460 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque from its iconic 5.0L Coyote V8 engine, the Coyote Mustang serves as solid standard barer for American muscle, and a great platform for the aftermarket. Case in point: the newly announced Hamburger’s Supercharger kit for the 2018-2021 S550 Ford Mustang GT, which can send power levels up to Hellcat-rivaling output.

2018-2021 Ford Mustang GT Hamburger’s Supercharger Kit Details

The centrifugal Stage 1 Supercharger kit boosts the Ford Mustang GT 5.0L engine to 700+ horsepower and 600+ lb.-ft of torque. Hamburger’s Superchargers claims that the installation is relatively easy as it maintains the stock intake manifold, allowing the engine to keep its low-end torque. The supercharger kit includes an upgraded 8-rib serpentine belt drive conversion for 33 percent more belt surface area, eliminating pulley slip in extreme conditions. There is also an ultra-high-efficiency air to water intercooler system for what they claim to be the lowest intake air temperatures of any supercharger kit on the market which also helps boost the performance. The oiling system for the supercharger is a closed-loop supercharger traction drive system that is entirely separate from the engine oiling system, so both are independent of each other and remain cool and unaffected by the other.

All hardware for the installation is included with the package, and the supercharger has quiet operation under boost and during everyday driving. In addition, calibration to make sure the kit is 50-State Emission legal comes included with the kit. Lastly, the entire system is backed by a 3 year / 36,000 miles limited parts warranty to help give customers peace of mind towards the upgrade. As far as pricing goes, it’s not yet clear how much the Mustang supercharger kit will cost, but going off of the prices of their other kits, it may end up being well over $6,000 before installation.

However, the price may be well worth it with power output encroaching on the the might Ford Mustang Shelby GT500.
