Holby City star Rosie Marcel has revealed that she had to have emergency surgery earlier this week.
The actress, who played Jac Naylor on the BBC One medical drama, took to social media to share a series of snaps from her hospital bed.
‘Ended up at the old emergency room the other night,’ she wrote Instagram, sharing an update with fans.
‘Stoke mandeville is my new local ish hospital and they were brilliant. Ambulance crew were amazing too.
‘Had surgery the next day and home soon after that.
‘Very very grateful to the nhs for looking after me and treating me quickly. #fentanyl #morphine all the good stuff!!! #nhs’.
Rosie portrayed Holby City fan-favourite Jac Naylor between 2005 and 2022, and made appearances in sister shows Casualty and HolbyBlue.
Holby reached an end in March, after 23 years on the air.
A statement from BBC read: ‘We are incredibly proud of Holby City but it’s with great sadness that we are announcing that after 23 years, the show will end on screen in March of ’
‘We sometimes have to make difficult decisions to make room for new opportunities and as part of the BBC’s commitment to make more programmes across the UK, we have taken the difficult decision to bring the show to a close in order to reshape the BBC’s drama slate to better reflect, represent and serve all parts of the country.’
The final ever episode of the medical drama saw Jac tragically die, after she was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour.
