The Bachelorette star Kaitlyn Bristowe has gotten cruel words about her appearance. Now, Jason Tartick is calling out these “grotesque” comments.
Many individuals from Bachelor Nation are subjected to intense criticism from fans, and Jason Tartick is speaking out about the cruel comments his fiancé and former The Bachelorette lead Kaitlyn Bristowe has received. Though many fans love the former Bachelorette and think that Kaitlyn and Jason are “couple goals,” there are others who have attacked her appearance. Jason has had enough, and he’s standing up for his fiancé on a podcast with strong words to the fans who try to tear her down.
Even though at the end of her season Kaitlyn got engaged to Shawn Booth, their relationship was not built to last, and the couple split up a few years later. But that wouldn’t be Kaitlyn’s only Bachelor Nation romance. Not long after her breakup, Kaitlyn found love and got engaged to Jason from Becca Kufrin’s season of The Bachelorette. Over the years, Kaitlyn has embraced her numerous professional opportunities as well. She won her season of Dancing with the Stars and is currently co-hosting Katie Thurston’s season of The Bachelorette with Tayshia Adams.
Though some fans have criticized Kaitlyn Bristowe’s hosting abilities, some were more vicious and have been targeting her appearance. On the Click Bait podcast, Jason Tartick spoke out about some of those hyper-critical commenters. “I don’t know why people think it’s OK to say the s*** they do on Twitter,” he said. “Our looks and things like that are most of the things we can’t control. And the way that people make comments, nasty comments, about people’s appearances, and obviously, specifically, I’m referring to Kaitlyn, it’s grotesque. It’s a joke.“
Kaitlyn has clapped back at fans questioning her appearance before, but it now seems that some commenters have gotten so cruel that Jason felt the need to speak out. He also pointed out the inherent sexism that is present in those kinds of comments. “The other thing is, the fact that it’s usually women putting other women down is just insane,” Jason added. “When Chris Harrison was up there, were people talking about Chris Harrison’s looks? Or when a guy’s up there?“
Jason is absolutely right – Chris Harrison hosted the franchise for nearly two decades, but he was never subjected to such harsh criticism, even when his ill-fitting suits deserved it. Kaitlyn’s looks have obviously changed, as she’s several years older than when she first appeared on the franchise six years ago. Since then, she’s had a few cosmetic procedures and style changes, so it’s only natural that she looks different. However, just because she’s gotten older and evolved her look doesn’t mean it should be open season for fans to criticize every perceived flaw.
Though it’s been years since Kaitlyn was the lead of The Bachelorette, she’s still subjected to the same kind of judgment. In fact, it seems to have gotten worse as her style has changed. Just because she looks different doesn’t mean she looks worse, and even if she did, there’s really no need to call her out for it. There have been some rumors about trouble between Kaitlyn and Jason, but based on the way Jason sticks up for his fiancé, it appears the couple is going strong and isn’t worried by what fans have to say.
