Jeep Gladiator EcoDiesel Gets AEV DualSport Suspension

The automotive aftermarket industry is a genuinely massive business. There are literally thousands of companies that offer parts for everything from your typical hatchback on up to the most extreme supercars. When it comes to off-roading however, the name American Expedition Vehicles is well known for a good reason. AEV has been modifying and providing parts for Jeeps and other off-road products since the late 1990s, and has more recently helped the likes of Chevrolet develop their Colorado ZR2 pickup truck. The ZR2 isn’t the only mid-sizer to benefit from AEV’s engineers however, as they’ve just rolled out the 2.5-inch AEV DualSport RT Suspension for the Jeep Gladiator EcoDiesel.

Specifically Designed For Gladiator EcoDiesel

The factory suspension system on the Jeep Gladiator EcoDiesel is perfectly fine for most owners, but it is damped softer than most off-roaders might suspect. This makes the truck drive more like a traditional car on the road, but it also sacrifices some off-road capability in the process. American Expedition Vehicles have now solved that however, by expanding their range of AEV DualSport RT Suspension systems. Specifically tuned for use with the heavier Jeep Gladiator EcoDiesel, this new kit contains the company’s progressive rate coil springs and some AEV-tuned Bilstein 5100 series shock absorber. In order to make the most out of components, the kit also includes AEV stamped control arm geometry correction brackets, bump stock extensions front and rear, relocated rear sway bar end links, a rear track bar tower, a rear driveshaft carrier bearing spacer, and a passenger side coil spring shim.

With all of the new hardware in place, the AEV DualSport RT Suspension kit provides more travel both up and down, as well as much more articulation than stock. The company notes that this improves the Jeep Gladiator EcoDiesel’s ride, and increases the truck’s off-road speed potential. Based on the success of this kit on other models, they likely know what they are talking about.

DualSport RT Suspension Pricing

American Expedition Vehicles says that this AEV DualSport RT Suspension kit only takes about five hours to install at home, with only a moderate amount of difficulty. Outside of your typical hand tools, installation only requires a power drill and a 13/32-inch drill bit. Buyers will also receive an AEV ProCal SNAP tool as well, which can easily recalibrate the speedometer inside your Jeep Gladiator EcoDiesel should you stick bigger tires on there. Speaking of tires, AEV notes that the kit allows for 35-inch rubber on the Sport and Overland models, while Rubicon can handle 37-inch tires. All in all, the package is well rounded for the $$1,699 it takes to get one. If you’re looking for a way to improve the looks and performance of your Jeep Gladiator EcoDiesel, it’s hard to argue against American Expedition Vehicle products.
