Right-handed pitching prospect Matt Allan will undergo Tommy John surgery to repair a partial tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in the coming weeks, the Mets announced on Friday.
Allan, ranked by MLB Pipeline as the Mets’ No. 3 prospect and No. 64 in the game, underwent a physical and MRI exam that revealed the ligament tear earlier this week.
Allan was taken by the Mets in the third round (89th overall) of the 2019 Draft.
