New Jurassic World Themed Jeep Wrangler 4xe Commercial

When you think Jurassic Park you think dinosaurs but you may also think Jeep (if not the Ford Explorer). And with the upcoming releases of Jurassic World Dominion on June 10th, Jeep has launched a new commercial that highlights its latest Jeep Wrangler and Grand Cherokee 4xe, effectively bringing electric plug-in hybrids into the mainstream.

The commercials feature a baby Carnotaurus, a dino specifically made for Jeep and its ad campaign; it’s not something you will see on the big screen. The lighthearted and comical commercials not only put a smile on your face but bring new Jeep products to a movie franchise dating back to 1993. You may remember Dr. Ian Malcom and crew making their famous getaway from a T-Rex in a 1992 Jeep Wrangler.

Jurassic Park 1992 Jeep Wrangler

At the beginning of the commercial the owner plugs the Jeep Wrangler 4xe into his home based charging system. The plug-in hybrid can charge up in as little as 2 hours and 15 minutes according to Inside EVs when using a 32 amp level-2 charging station. That being the case you’re essentially able to charge your Jeep in the time it takes to watch the upcoming Jurassic World movie which has a runtime of 2 hours and 26-minutes. As Global Chief Marketing Officer states in a Stellantis press release, the 4xe lineup is “charged for any adventure.”

The Wrangler 4xe is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that provides 375 horsepower capable of about 370 miles of range, 21 of which are completely silent with the use of the two electric motors. In the event you need a quick getaway, the Jeep Wrangler can move 0-60 in just 6-seconds. The Grand Cherokee 4xe which was also featured in the video sports the same horsepower and similar power-plant setup but offers up 25 miles of all-electric range.

Along with the Wrangler, keen observers may also see a Gladiator, and Vintage Grand Wagoneer in the upcoming movie. Guess we’ll have to go see it now.
