Rahul Gandhi arrives in Jammu, proceeds to holy shrine Shree Vaishno Devi | India News

JAMMU: Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday arrived here for two-day visit, he will also be visiting holy town Katra to pay obeisance at the famous cave shrine of Shree Mata Vaishnodevi.
On his arrival the enthusiastic Congress leaders and workers in large numbers welcomed him and showered petals at Gandhi outside the Jammu Airport. Later he was led to Jammu city in the shape of an impressive rally by the party activists. Soon, after his arrival, the Congress leader left for Katra to pay obeisance at the holy cave shrine.
Party spokesperson said that the Congress leader will trek on foot to pay obeisance at the holy cave shrine of Mata Vaishnodevi.
“On Friday, he shall be interacting with the party delegates at JK Resorts in Jammu from 1100 hours to 1230 hours”.
Party spokesperson said, “He will also hold interaction with the senior party leaders and shall return to New Delhi.”
On August 10, Gandhi visited the Hazratbal Dargah along with Kheer Bhavani Temple in Srinagar.
Chief spokesperson JKPCC Ravinder Sharma, Neeraj Gupta and Sahil Sharma are coordinating the visit of the AICC leader.
On September 7, senior AICC leader and in-charge of Jammu and Kashmir affairs, Rajni Patil visited Jammu city to take stock of preparations for the visit of Rahul Gandhi.
Rajni Patil held a high-level meeting with PCC president G A Mir and other senior leaders to discuss the arrangements made in this connection.
