Report: Further testing shows torn ACL for WFT’s Logan Thomas

In the aftermath of Washington Football Team tight end Logan Thomas’ knee injury suffered in Week 13 against the Las Vegas Raiders, it appeared that the sixth-year pro had avoided a torn ACL, but would still miss the rest of the 2021 season. One of those two things proved true, as further testing has reportedly shown that Thomas did indeed tear his left ACL and is out for the remainder of the year.

Per ESPN staff writer John Keim, Thomas is expected to undergo surgery this week and be ready for the start of the 2022 season.

“Before putting him on IR, Washington had debated keeping Thomas on the active 53-man roster in case the team made the playoffs and could use him at some point in the postseason,” Keim reported. “Because it was his second stay on IR, it ended his season. At the time, Rivera said they didn’t want to rush Thomas back.”
