Speedkore Dodge Charger Build Made For Design Executive Ralph Gilles

Ralph Gilles, Head of Design for Stellantis North America has a new ride, and it’s possibly the most famous model from the brand’s storied history.

Dubbed “Hellucination“, the 1968 Dodge Charger was built by SpeedKore, a mod shop that specializes in stylish creations. The shop has previously been responsible for a Boss 302 built for Robert Downey Jr., and Kevin Hart’s ill-fated 1970 Barracuda.

Of course, he wouldn’t be the head of design without offering a few suggestions of his own, after all Gilles did design the Dodge Magnum, the Chrysler 300C, and the updated Dodge Viper. The outside remains largely stock, which is a good thing for one of the most perfectly proportioned muscle cars ever. Just a front chin spoiler, tightened up bumpers, and sneaky turn signals hidden in the flanks of the grille differentiate it from stock.

Inside is a much different story, with much of the original interior tossed away for a modern grey and yellow motif. The net effect is unfortunately more cyberpunk than speed demon, and our eyes can’t help but be drawn to that ugly modern shifter for the eight-speed automatic. It’s not like many people other than Ralph will be looking inside, however.

The wheels are HRE units specifically made for the build and ape the style of the classic Western wheel, made famous by the General Lee. At 19 and 20 inches across and sporting 345-section tires in the rear, the Charger will have no problem sticking to the road in an effort to escape Rosco.

The Hellucination Speedkore Dodge Charger for Ralph Gilles wouldn’t be a proper restomod without an insane engine to roast those tires, and the Hellucination features possibly the wildest crate engine of all: Mopar’s 1,000 horsepower Hellephant V8. A massive scoop sucks in enough air to sate the beast, while a custom exhaust system belches fire and brimstone.

Although every aspect of the Charger is impressive, possibly the most exciting feature is the body. You likely wouldn’t notice it with a passing glance, but the entire body is made of carbon fiber, dropping the weight down significantly and somehow making 1,000 horsepower feel like much more.
