The Jeep Wrangler 4xe Is Apparently Confusing People

People who aren’t clued into the auto industry likely never expected Jeep to offer a plug-in hybrid SUV in the form of the Wrangler 4xe. For some, the Jeep Wrangler stands as some sort of misinformed symbol of climate change denialism, and anybody choosing anything over public transportation is a selfish misogynist that’s killing pedestrians. To point out just how clueless people can get, here is an excellent example of somebody using their free time as a climate justice foot soldier, patrolling EV parking spaces, when they saw a Jeep Wrangler parked in one.

The audacity!

An image posted on the JL Wrangler Forums showcases the plug-in door for someone’s Jeep Wrangler 4xe, along with them holding a note that reads: “This parking is for electric vehicles douchebag.”

How quick to resort to discrimination of the other, eh?

It’s not that hard to spot a Wrangler 4xe over a typical JL Wrangler, with the badging being the most notable indicator along with the blue tow hooks on the front and, of course, the charge port door. Our guess is this person isn’t well versed in the automotive world and will undoubtedly strike again in the future when they start to see trucks and muscle cars using these spots as well.

Jeep Wrangler 4xe: Highlights

For those that don’t know, the Jeep Wrangler 4xe is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder combustion engine accompanied by two electric motors, providing a total of 375 horsepower and a Hemi rivaling 470 lb-ft of torque. Since the 4xe is a plug-in hybrid, the SUV has an estimated electric-only range of 21 miles before firing up the engine. So before needing a refill at a gas station, the Wrangler 4xe can travel around 370 miles. Additionally, the vehicle can go from 0-60 in just 6 seconds which is excellent when merging onto an interstate.

Unfortunately, the Wrangler 4xe is no exception to how things are going and has received a significant price increase for the 2022 model year. That will undoubtedly continue to be affected by supply shortages, making manufacturing electric vehicles more difficult.

The Jeep Wrangler 4xe will now be supported by the Jeep 4xe Charging Network with stations near legendary trailheads.
