Uttar Pradesh CM Adityanath dials Akhilesh Yadav on his birthday | India News

LUCKNOW: Mass marriages, blood donation camps, free food camps for the needy and the customary cutting of cake by party workers marked the 48th birthday celebrations of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav held on Thursday. The highlight of the day however was a phone call from chief minister Yogi Adityanath to his predecessor to wish him personally.
In the telephonic conversation, the two leaders exchanged pleasantries and the CM wished him a happy birthday, like the previous years. The SP chief thanked him for the wishes. The CM also took to twitter to convey his good wishes to Akhilesh Yadav. “I pray to Lord Ram for your good health and long life,” Yogi Adityanath tweeted.
Union minister Nitin Gadkari, NCP MP Supriya Sule, BJP MP along with a host of other political stalwarts and SP leaders took to twitter to wish the former UP CM on his birthday. Interestingly, Akhilesh’s 14-year-old son Arjun Yadav also tweeted a photo of his father and himself on Agra expressway and wished his father happy birthday. Arjun created his twitter account barely a year ago and has over 29K followers.
Meanwhile party leaders celebrated Akhilesh Yadav’s birthday in their own way. Former MLC Ashu Malik organised mass wedding of 48 underprivileged Hindu and Muslim girls from Manak Mau, Gagaldehi and Pardauli villages in his native district of Saharanpur on the eve of party president’s birthday. On Thursday the newly wed took blessings from Akhilesh through a virtual interaction and wished him on his birthday. The SP chief presented them with a purse of Rs 25000 each.
In Varanasi Samajwadi Party workers organised a blood donation camp in Shivpur area. The camp was inaugurated by Anand Mohan ‘Guddu’ and the party workers donated around 100 units of the blood. In several districts apart from distributing fruits and food packets, party leaders cut cakes to celebrate the event.
On his birthday, which also happens to be the National Doctors’ Day, Akhilesh himself took to twitter to thank the doctors for their services particularly during the pandemic. “Congratulations and best wishes on National Doctors Day. During the pandemic, when the BJP government failed miserably, doctors came forward and took the lead. It is now the responsibility of the government to look after them. Doctor is another name for the hope of life,” he tweeted in Hindi.
