Square Enix has released the final trailer for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade and it has revealed new information about the Yuffie DLC.
Square Enix has released the final trailer for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, which has revealed a lot of interesting new details about additions and changes to FF7 Remake’s story. Intergrade is the upcoming PS5 upgrade for FF7 Remake, which will also include two new chapters starring Yuffie from FF7, as part of the Final Fantasy 7 INTERmission DLC.
The content in the INTERmission DLC is brand new, in terms of the storyline of FF7 Remake. In FF7, the player couldn’t encounter Yuffie until after they had passed through the Mythril Mine. The INTERmission DLC introduces Yuffie a lot earlier, as she infiltrates Midgar while Cloud and Avalanche are still there. The INTERmission DLC will involve Yuffie teaming up with Avalanche HQ, as she searches for an “Ultimate Materia” that is possessed by the Shinra Corporation.

The final trailer for FF7 Intergrade is now available on YouTube and it has revealed new pieces of information about the story. It seems that Yuffie’s solo outing will be a lot more dramatic than fans originally realized, as she faces a forgotten foe from Dirge of Cerberus, and learns more about the war with Wutai that happened years before.
FF7 Remake: Yuffie’s Second Chapter Happens Earlier Than Expected
A lot of fans assumed that the second Yuffie chapter would happen near the end of FF7 Remake, as it appeared that she was fighting Deepground soldiers in the Shinra Headquarters. The new trailer suggests that the second chapter takes place earlier in the game, as Yuffie mentions the Shinra Corporation’s plans to drop the Sector 7 Plate. It’s possible that Yuffie’s storyline ends a lot earlier than fans realized.
FF7’s Fort Condor Is Now A Minigame
It was hinted in promotional material for Intergrade that Fort Condor had been cut from the FF7 Remake series. The new trailer has revealed that Fort Condor is now a minigame in the INTERmission DLC and it’s totally different from the one in FF7. The new version of Fort Condor is similar to Auto Chess, rather than the tower defense game in FF7. It’s likely that the Fort Condor location and storyline have been cut from the FF7 Remake series, with this minigame taking its place.
Nero The Sable Is Part Of FF7 Remake’s Main Story (But Weiss Isn’t)
The first trailer for Intergrade revealed that Weiss the Immaculate from Dirge of Cerberus will appear in the INTERmission DLC. It was later confirmed that he will fight Cloud for the first time. The hologrammatic animations around Weiss in the first trailer suggested that this battle would happen in the Shinra Combat Simulator. The new trailer seems to confirm this, as Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith are shown fighting Weiss in the Simulator.
One of the big reveals from the new FF7 Remake trailer is that Nero the Sable from Dirge of Cerberus will appear in INTERmission as a boss. Nero will be part of the story, as he is shown fighting Shinra scientists before taking on Yuffie and Sonon. It’s unclear what Deepground was up to during the events of FF7 (outside of the explanation that the creators of the series hadn’t thought of them yet), so INTERmission could fit them into the story.
Scarlet Has A History With Wutai In FF7
Scarlet will have her own boss battle in INTERmission, where she fights in a mech that resembles the Proud Clod from FF7. It appears that Scarlet has a history with Sonon, as a flashback is shown of a Shinra machine killing a girl named Melfi. It’s possible that Melfi is also connected to Yuffie, as there is a resemblance between the two Final Fantasy 7 Remake characters. These scenes suggest that Scarlet was involved in the war with Wutai and her machines were responsible for killing someone close to Sonon.
Sonon Probably Dies In FF7 Remake DLC
Fans guessed that Sonon wouldn’t survive the events of INTERmission, considering that he has never appeared in any piece of FF7 media outside of this game. The final shot of the trailer shows Yuffie crying on her own, with blood splattered on her cheek. This is the same blood that was noted by FF7 Remake Intergrade’s ESRB rating. It’s likely that the blood is Sonon’s and the reason Yuffie is crying is over his death, which will prompt her actions in later games in the FF7 Remake series.
